Industrial Maintenance Technician

What challenges can you expect?

SUMMARY:

Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing repair and maintenance on equipment in the facility.

Essential Functions:

Perform all duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
Perform all preventative maintenance duties to equipment.
Continually monitor machinery and make necessary adjustment(s) to ensure proper operation.
Perform all levels of electrical and mechanical repairs to industrial machinery.
Repair and possible fabrication of machinery, work cells and component parts.
Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company and OSHA standards.
Complete all paperwork and/or electronic updates as required.
Identify, maintain and order equipment and facility spare parts inventory.
Ability to obtain certificate to operate powered industrial forklift.
Assist Manager with Budget requirements of department and facility
Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

Exposure to noise, heat, dust, and fumes as found in a manufacturing environment.
Exposure to extreme weather conditions possible.
Exposure to commercial chemicals and waste such as solvents, paints, oils and cleaners.
Exposure to working at heights above 4’
Regular use of hand tools and heavy industrial shop tools and equipment.
Physical Demands:
This position routinely requires moderate to extreme physical exertion and may require prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and working in awkward positions. Will also use phone, computer, laptop, copy machine, fax machine or other office equipment. The physical demands may vary depending on the nature of the work.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a Regular full-time position.
Ability to Work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.

What do we expect from you?

Required Skills or Education:

Excellent electrical and mechanical aptitude. Some welding experience is required.
Minimum Five (5) year's experience in industrial maintenance.
Must be able to recognize and avoid electrical hazards.
Must be familiar with electrical PPE such as arc flash suit, insulated gloves and tools.
Must have the skills to properly use voltage test equipment.
Must have the skills to identify exposed energized electrical components and conductors
Must have the skills to determine the nominal voltage of exposed energized electrical components and conductors
Must understand and identify the applicable approach distance for the voltage in which they will be exposed (NFPA 70 E Tables)
Must possess the decision-making ability to determine the level of hazard, proper PPE and job planning to safely perform the task
Basic understanding and usage of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Electro-Mechanical
Hydraulics and Pneumatics

Electronics
Welding
Some Forklift mechanical and electrical knowledge
Overhead Crane systems
Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
Experience/knowledge Computer based maintenance software

Facility Plumbing, Electrical, Structural and HVAC systems
Facility maintenance project management, janitorial and lawn care
Manage outside contractors through job completion
Manage Security Systems
Manage government required facility systems inspections

Preferred Skills or Education:

Completion of a two-year technical training program preferred.
AutoCad
Programmable Logic Controllers
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 1910 General Industry Certificate
