Industrial Maintenance Technician

What challenges can you expect?

SUMMARY:

Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing repair, maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment and building.

Essential Functions:

• Perform all duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Perform all preventative and predictive maintenance duties to equipment and facility.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Continually monitor machinery and make necessary adjustment(s) to ensure proper operation.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize disruption to production processes
• Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards during maintenance tasks according to OSHA standards and LOTO requirements.
• Perform all levels of electrical and mechanical repairs to industrial machinery, fixtures and systems.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company and OSHA standards.
• Complete all paperwork and/or electronic updates as required.
• Identify, maintain and order equipment and facility spare parts inventory.
• Ability to obtain certificate to operate powered industrial forklift.
• Assist Manager with Budget requirements of department and facility
• Other duties as assigned. 

Work Environment:

• Exposure to noise, heat, dust, and fumes as found in a manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to extreme weather conditions possible.
• Exposure to commercial chemicals and waste such as solvents, paints, oils and cleaners.
• Exposure to working at heights above 4’
• Regular use of hand tools and heavy industrial shop tools and equipment.

Physical Demands:
This position routinely requires moderate to extreme physical exertion and may require prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and working in awkward positions. Will also use phone, computer, laptop , copy machine, fax machine or other office equipment.  The physical demands may vary depending on the nature of the work.

What do we expect from you?

Required Skills or Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent is required. An Associated degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in industrial maintenance or similar role is desirable.
• Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.
• Must be able to recognize and avoid electrical hazards.
• Must have the skills to properly use voltage test equipment.
• Must possess the decision-making ability to determine the level of hazard, proper PPE and
• Job planning to safely perform the task
• Knowledge of Hydraulics and Pneumatics systems.
• Working knowledge and usage of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and blueprints.
• Some Forklift mechanical and electrical knowledge preferred
• Knowledge and use of Overhead Crane systems
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
• Experience/knowledge Computer based maintenance software
• Basic understanding of Facility Fire systems, Fire Panel, Fire Suppression Systems
• Proficient in using hand and power tools
