Team Lead - 2nd Shift

Position Summary
The production team leader acts as a liaison between the supervisor and other staff with effective and efficient operations including quality, productivity, safety, and housekeeping standards in an assembly environment. The nature of this position requires the candidate to possess a strong desire to work in a team environment with attention to detail and accuracy. You must be self-motivated and can motivate others.
Position Responsibilities
- Ensure production schedules are followed by delegating tasks and assignments and verify they are completed according to Quality, Industry and company standards.
- Enforce housekeeping rules.
- Assist supervisor with planning and assigning work, monitoring schedule and daily performance to ensure production schedule is met.
- Provides regular progress reports to Production Manager.
- Troubleshoots production problems and take preventive and corrective action.
- Assist supervisor with tracking absenteeism and time-keeping.
- Engage, train, and document new employees on the job once they have completed initial onboarding with the HR department and in accordance with the yearly training plan.
- Ability to independently run an entire shift in the supervisors absence
- Perform administrative tasks under the guidance of the supervisor, such as documenting procedures and creating guidelines.
- Assist the supervisor in hiring new production personnel.
- Participate in company training seminars in order to help the company move forward.
- Assist supervisor by provide staff with technical guidance and assistance.
- Serving as backup in production as needed
- Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development, and process disciplinary action in absence of Supervisor or Production Manager in accordance with Company policy. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
- Writing work instructions as well as production checklists as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
Assist with Supervision of Hourly Production Employees
Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This role will routinely be exposed to loud noises such as air-powered tools/presses, oil/dirt, and forklift traffic.
Physical Demands
This position is frequently required to stand, walk, and use hands and arms to handle, feel and/or reach. Some lifting of parts may be required when necessary; ability to lift a minimum of 35-50 lbs.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Typical Shift Hours of Operations
2nd Shift: 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Daily and weekend overtime may be required, as needed
