Transformer Service Technician

What challenges can you expect?

The Transformer Service Technician is responsible for assisting the Transformer Field Service Team in preparing equipment and job sites.  Additionally, they will assist in the execution, quality control and assurance, product costs, workflow, purchasing, materials management and logistics.

Strategic Tasks:

  • Close collaboration with and technical support of the Transformer Field Service Team
  • Operates under direction of the Onsite Field Service Supervisor
  • Assist in all craft classifications

Administrative Tasks: 

  • Personal development planning / training to advance knowledge and experience of the Transformer Service field.
  • Compilation of periodic reports (i.e. timesheets, expense reports, job information, customer information, KPIs).

What do we expect from you?

Education:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

Experience:

  • Experience in transformer field service in the utility/electrical energy industry a plus
  • Experience driving hauling trailers a plus
  • Transformer testing experience
  • Commercial Driver's License with Class A endorsement a plus

Additional Skills:

  • A business-oriented and entrepreneurial spirit
  • A "hands-on" mentality and a good level of assertiveness to get things done
  • A high level of motivation and the ability to work independently
  • Willingness and ability to travel (min. 85% travel)
  • Familiarity to work with the MS Office suite
  • A team player mentality
  • An ability to withstand exposure to varying environmental conditions at field locations
