Intern (m/f/d) in our Power Electronics department (focus on Converter Protection Concepts, Failure simulations in Matlab/Simulink and Reliability Analysis) - summer term 2023

What challenges can you expect?

  • You will take responsibility in the preparation of Protection Concept documentation of our Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) which is in testing phase
  • You will make simulations in Matlab/Simulink on the already existing converter model under different failure scenarios to observe the system behaviour and provide primary fault analysis.
  • You will evaluate the system behaviour in the simulations with and without the protection functions, to be documented
  • You are eager to participate in the converter testing in medium voltage lab
  • You are expected to go through different documentation for signals used in the system and simulation environment and create new signals in database, whenever needed
  • You are eager to learn and participate in reliability analysis studies of MMC

What do we expect from you?

  • You are an enrolled Master student of Electrical Engineering, preferably Power Electronics or a comparable course of study
  • You have very good knowledge on Matlab/Simulink
  • You are eager to prepare technical documentation and make updates/modifications according to peer reviews
  • You tackle complex problems with creativity and analytical thinking
  • You are interested in advancing your career in a multidisciplinary and technically oriented international environment
  • You have good knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Knowledge on MMC would be a plus
